Maybe you’ve been writing flash for a while, and your pieces are starting to stagnate. Maybe you’re new to the form. This tune-up is for everyone eager to stir up their craft, tap into fresh energy, resist the easy rhythm, and work those muscles of compression and precision, which only strengthens our skills across genre. This two-week intensive for the dedicated writer will provide honest, thoughtful engagement with an intimate group of peers as we push our short form practice toward greater discovery and polish for publication. The live online format requires active participation, which will be accompanied by an asynchronous slack for prompts, craft materials and additional discussion. Each student will be receive extensive oral and written feedback of up to 2 flash pieces. 6 people max.

Sara Lippmann is the author of the story collections Doll Palace, re-released by 713 Books, and Jerks from Mason Jar Press. Her work has been honored by the New York Foundation for the Arts, and has appeared in The Millions, The Washington Post, The Lit Hub, Best Small Fictions, Catapult, Guernica, Epiphany, Split Lip, Joyland, Wigleaf and elsewhere. She received a BA from Brown and an MFA from The New School, and has been teaching creative writing for over 20 years to people of all ages. Her debut novel, LECH, is out now from Tortoise Books.
